Updated August 2, 2023: We have updated the rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience.
This update will visually refresh the Microsoft Whiteboard app user interface for laptops, desktops and tablets while simultaneously making whiteboarding tools upfront and toolbar at the bottom of the screen to improve engagement, discoverability & ease of whiteboarding.
This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 124900
[When this will happen:]
The rollout for the Microsoft Whiteboard App User Interface update has been started & is expected to be fully complete by late August 2023 (previously late July).
[How this will affect your organization:]
The Whiteboard chrome will undergo a visual refresh making key content creation tools such as notes, reactions, comments, text & shapes surface more prominently, empowering users to easily discover and engage with the same to expedite content creation. Additionally, the toolbar will be repositioned to the bottom of the screen, improving usability & affording more space to view and use the whiteboard especially on smaller screen devices (such as tablets).
This change will hopefully stimulate flexible visual collaboration through Whiteboard among users, allowing them to better express their ideas, whenever & wherever inspiration strikes them next.
[What you need to do to prepare:]
The feature will be rolled out automatically on Whiteboard web, Teams and the Windows app to all customers.
