User impact: Users may be unable to view telemetry data as expected in the Microsoft Defender for Endpoint portal.

Current status: According to monitoring telemetry, our efforts to correct the aforementioned misconfiguration to prevent new instances of impact are progressing successfully. However, due to the complexity of this process, it’s taking longer than initially expected. We’ll aim to provide an estimated time to completion by our next scheduled update.

Scope of impact: Any user hosted out of the affected infrastructure may be unable to view full telemetry data as expected in the Microsoft Defender for Endpoint portal.

Start time: Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at 1:00 PM UTC

Root cause: A recent service update, intended to reconfigure a network authentication component, led to a discrepancy between the information present on the infrastructure that facilitates this functionality and the information recognized by the service to fulfill telemetry data ingestion and population in the Microsoft Defender for Endpoint Portal.
