Title: Users may not see Microsoft Teams when installing Microsoft 365 or Office desktop apps in the EEA and Switzerland
User impact: Users may have not seen Microsoft Teams when installing Microsoft 365 or Office desktop apps in the EEA and Switzerland.
More info: Users who installed Microsoft 365 or Office desktop apps on Windows devices located in the EEA and Switzerland may have seen that Microsoft Teams wasn’t installed. Additionally, Microsoft Teams may have been removed entirely if Office was reinstalled.
Affected users can follow these steps to install Microsoft Teams separately: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-teams/download-app
Admins can follow these steps to bulk install classic Microsoft Teams to devices across their environment using Windows Installer (MSI):
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/msi-deployment
Admins can also follow these steps to bulk upgrade and install the new Microsoft Teams client to devices across their environment:

Final status: We’ve completed our deployment of the fix and confirmed that all admins and end users with an active Microsoft Teams service plan are now able to access the service as expected. Users and admins may re-install Microsoft 365 apps to have Microsoft Teams visible, or they may install Microsoft Teams separately, which is further outlined in the “More info” section of this communication.
Scope of impact: This event may have impacted users who were attempting to install Microsoft 365 or Office desktop apps on Windows devices located in the European Economic Area and Switzerland.

Next steps:
– We’re reviewing our procedures for implementing service changes that may potentially have a broader and undesirable impact to reduce or eliminate the effect the changes may incur.
– We’re reviewing our processes for proactively communicating potential impact scenarios that could result from service changes.
