Admins may be unable to access the expected level of granular controls.

Current status: Our deployment of the fix has failed, and is thus incomplete. We’re reviewing the deployment to understand what caused it to fail, determine how to repair the issue, and establish a new timeline for our fix deployment and impact resolution.

Scope of impact: Users that have updated to the most recent Microsoft Defender for Endpoint update are impacted by this event.

Root cause: A latent code regression introduced with an engine update within the affected infrastructure causes an unexpected parsing behavior to occur in certain circumstances, which is resulting in impact.
