Current status: Our validation efforts continue as we work to ensure the fix successfully addresses the issue as expected, and we continue to anticipate that users in the impacted environment should begin to receive fix as early as Monday, November 27, 2023. We’ll monitor the deployment process once we begin applying the fix to the affected environment to calculate and provide an estimated timeline to full remediation.
Scope of impact: Anonymous users attempting to access Microsoft Whiteboards in Microsoft Teams meetings held via any connection method may be affected.

Root cause: Our mitigative efforts to address a different problem pertaining to Microsoft Teams admin center configurations regarding anonymous users’ access privileges led to the temporary suspension of anonymous users’ ability to edit or view whiteboards in Microsoft Teams altogether.
