User impact: Users’ newly enrolled macOS devices may have been unable to access the Company Portal within Microsoft Intune.
More info: Additionally, this event may have impacted existing macOS devices that needed to be re-registered for any reason.
Impacted users received the error message “There was an issue registering your device” when attempting to enroll their Mac devices with the company portal.
Final status: We reverted the offending update and monitored the environment to validate that the impact was remediated.
Scope of impact: Some users who’ve recently enrolled their Mac devices may have been impacted.

Root cause: A recent service update which intended to update a portion of the Microsoft Intune service infrastructure was causing some users to be unable to access the Company Portal on newly enrolled devices.
Next steps:
– We’re reviewing our service update procedures to improve our methods of identifying and preventing similar problems with future updates.
