More info: Specifically, when users click the Captions button to turn on live captions, nothing happens.
Users can switch to the new Microsoft Teams desktop client to avoid this issue.
Current status: We have initiated deployment of the fix to the affected infrastructure. We will continue to monitor the deployment to ensure that the fix remediates the impact as intended.
Scope of impact: Users on the classic Microsoft Teams desktop client who are attempting to turn on captions for Town hall events may be impacted.

Root cause: A change to the Microsoft Teams service introduced a regression which resulted in different caches being read from and written to for captions, resulting in impact.
