User impact: Users may experience files and media showing as not supported when uploading in webparts within SharePoint Online.

More info: Some users may see the following error message: ‘This doesn’t seem like a supported image file. Please select a different image’.

As a workaround, users can ignore the error and proceed with the upload; the error message stating the image doesn’t seem supported is appearing incorrectly.

Current status: The deployment of our fix has reached 50 percent of the affected environment. At the current rate of progress, we anticipate the deployment will complete and all users will see resolution by our next scheduled update.

Scope of impact: Impact is specific to some users who are served through the affected infrastructure.

Root cause: A recent code change meant to optimize the webpart upload process has caused a timing issue that supplies an uploaded file’s current state before the service is ready to process it, resulting in impact.
