More info: The issue only occurs when joining Microsoft-hosted Microsoft Teams live events from the “Calendar Peek” view in the Microsoft Teams desktop client. Users attending such events are recommended to join through a direct link via their web browser or through their Outlook calendar instead of using the Microsoft Teams desktop calendar.
Current status: We’re deploying the fix to our test environment to ensure it will resolve the issue before we start deployment to the affected environments. Once available, we’ll provide confirmation of when the fix will begin deployment to impacted users and a resolution timeline.
Scope of impact: This issue may impact any user attempting to watch Microsoft-hosted Microsoft Teams live events playing pre-recorded videos.
Root cause: When a user joins the live event using the “Calendar Peek” view in the Microsoft Teams desktop client, data that ensures pre-recorded videos are tagged with values that maintain a high resolution isn’t transmitted as expected.
