New Microsoft-compliant Contact Editor now available on Outlook Mobile

Microsoft has recently launched a new contact editor in Outlook Mobile for both iOS and Android platforms, aiming to enhance the contact management experience. This new editor replaces the native editors on devices and addresses compliance concerns related to managing and enforcing Intune policies for contact editing. Users can now efficiently manage their contacts while ensuring compliance with Microsoft Intune policies. The new editor offers a wide range of fields and provides a consistent contact-editing experience across iOS, Android, Outlook.com, and the new Outlook app for Windows.

The new contact editor brings several benefits, including compliance with Intune policies, coherence in editing experience across platforms, and easy organization through categories that allow users to group contacts into meaningful clusters. Contacts created through previous native editors will remain accessible for viewing and editing within Outlook mobile and web platforms.

To access the new Contact editor, users need to update their Outlook Mobile app to the latest release. They can find the Contact editor by clicking on ‘New Contact’ in the Contacts tab, selecting ‘Create’ in the People section in the Feed tab, using the People Card feature to add or edit contacts, or scanning a business card in the Feed tab (available for Android users).

Microsoft encourages users to share their feedback on the new Contact editor. If users have suggestions, questions, or encounter any issues, they can leave a comment below or email contacteditorfeedback@service.microsoft.com. This update aims to streamline contact management and provide a more user-friendly experience for Outlook Mobile users.
