Microsoft has officially launched Face Check with Microsoft Entra Verified ID, a cutting-edge facial matching feature designed for high-assurance identity verifications. This innovative tool is part of the Microsoft Entra Suite, a comprehensive identity solution that enhances security by providing Zero Trust access through a combination of network access, identity protection, governance, and identity verification capabilities.

In today’s digital landscape, the risk of impersonation and account takeover is on the rise, with bad actors exploiting insecure credentials in a majority of attack paths. To combat this threat, organizations need robust identity verification mechanisms to ensure the authenticity of individuals interacting digitally. Microsoft Entra Verified ID leverages open standards to enable organizations to verify a wide range of credentials using a simple API, integrating with leading verification partners to verify identity attributes across 192 countries.

Face Check, powered by Azure AI services, adds an essential layer of trust by matching a user’s real-time selfie with the photo on their Verified ID, sourced from trusted documents like passports or driver’s licenses. By sharing only match results and not sensitive identity data, Face Check enhances identity verification while safeguarding user privacy. It effectively detects and rejects various spoofing techniques, including deepfakes, to provide comprehensive protection for user identities.

One success story involves BEMO, a security solution provider for SMBs, which integrated Face Check into its help desk operations. By leveraging Face Check with Microsoft Entra Verified ID, BEMO achieved increased verification accuracy, reduced verification time, and lowered costs. This implementation led to a significant efficiency improvement, with a 90% reduction in the time taken to complete manual identity verifications.

Partners specializing in implementing Face Check with Microsoft Entra Verified ID offer tailored solutions for specific use cases, verifying identity attributes such as employment status, education, or government-issued IDs. These partnerships extend Verified ID’s capabilities, providing diverse verification solutions to meet the unique needs of businesses.

Organizations can start using Face Check with Microsoft Entra Verified ID by setting up a Verified ID tenant and choosing from two purchase options to enable Face Check for verification purposes. Whether through the Entra Suite free trial or direct purchase, businesses can leverage this premium feature to enhance their identity verification processes.
