Introducing Copilot in OneDrive: Now Generally Available

Microsoft has introduced Copilot on OneDrive for the web, offering a revolutionary way for Copilot licensed commercial users to enhance their file management experience. Copilot, powered by AI, acts as a productivity companion, streamlining tasks and boosting efficiency. Users can benefit from features like generating summaries for large documents, comparing differences between multiple files, answering complex questions using files, and even generating ideas for new documents based on stored files.

To get started with Copilot in OneDrive, users simply need to hover over a supported file and click on the Copilot button to access a range of suggested actions or ask questions. By selecting up to 5 files, users can utilize Copilot to simplify tasks such as summarizing reports or extracting insights from files. For those new to Copilot, a detailed getting started guide and FAQs are available to maximize the tool’s potential.

With Copilot now fully available on OneDrive, users can look forward to a smarter and more efficient future in file management. Microsoft encourages users to explore Copilot in OneDrive and anticipates the release of more exciting Copilot features in the near future. Additionally, users are invited to join the OneDrive digital event on October 8th to discover AI innovations for the new era of work and home.

Feedback is welcomed, and users are encouraged to provide input directly in Copilot using the thumbs up or thumbs down feature to help enhance the overall experience. Arjun, a Principal Product Manager on the OneDrive web team, spearheads the integration of AI into file experiences within OneDrive and other Microsoft 365 apps. Beyond work, Arjun enjoys dining out, traveling, and playing cricket in his free time.
