Microsoft is continuously improving its Purview Data Loss Prevention to address modern data security challenges. New features include extending protection to Microsoft 365 Copilot, enhancing endpoint DLP controls, and providing insights for admins.
A new capability called Microsoft Purview DLP for Microsoft 365 Copilot helps prevent data leakage in AI-generated content. Admins can create policies to exclude sensitive documents from being used in M365 Copilot, ensuring that confidential information is not shared.
Additional protections are being extended to Fabric items, with the ability to detect and restrict access to sensitive data. On macOS devices, support for archive files, just-in-time protection, and web-based activity controls are now available.
Improvements to endpoint DLP controls include extended file type coverage, blanket protections for non-supported file types, and the ability to pause and resume tasks. A new DLP policy insights skill in Security Copilot provides admins with a comprehensive view of their DLP program.
Enhanced Security Copilot skills assist admins in investigating incidents and navigating
