What’s Next for Accessibility in Microsoft Teams

“Our goal with Microsoft Teams is to make sure everyone can succeed without any barriers. We want to make the platform accessible to individuals with disabilities while also making it easier for all users to use. Feedback from people with disabilities is really important to us because it helps us create solutions that are accessible to everyone.

In the next few months, Teams will be getting new features to make collaboration easier for everyone. Some of these features include customization options for meetings, better captions for those who like to read instead of listen, and a Real-Time Text feature for people who can’t speak. We will also be improving the overall accessibility of Teams by making it more visually responsive, improving keyboard shortcuts, and putting all accessibility settings in one place.

Currently, Teams already has features like Screen Reader support, High Contrast Mode, and Keyboard Shortcuts to help users with disabilities navigate the platform. Live Captions and Transcriptions, Sign Language View, and Teletypewriter (TTY) Mode are also available for those who need them.

Microsoft 365 Copilot can even help summarize discussions and generate meeting notes to save time for users. Our commitment to inclusion is an ongoing journey that is shaped by the needs of our users and the changing world of technology. We value feedback from users
