Take action by February 1: Azure AD Graph is retiring

Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to give you a heads up for 2025: Starting February 1, 2025, applications won’t be able to use Azure AD Graph APIs anymore. The retirement of the Azure AD Graph API service began in September 2024.

What this means is that existing applications will no longer be able to make requests to Azure AD Graph APIs after February 1st. This change will happen gradually across tenants, with full deployment expected by the end of February.

The replacement for Azure AD Graph APIs is Microsoft Graph, so we recommend migrating your applications to Microsoft Graph and stopping further use of Azure AD Graph APIs.

If you haven’t already, it’s important to review the applications on your tenant to see which ones depend on Azure AD Graph API access and take action before the February 1st deadline.

You can use Microsoft Entra Recommendations in the admin center to identify applications that will be affected by the retirement of Azure AD Graph API access. These recommendations summarize usage of Azure AD Graph APIs by applications in your tenant.

To ensure continued operation, make sure to migrate applications from retiring Azure AD Graph APIs to Microsoft Graph. If you have applications that need access to Azure AD Graph APIs after February, update their configuration to allow extended
