Title: Users may not see Microsoft Teams when installing Microsoft 365 or Office desktop apps in the EEA and Switzerland
User impact: Users may not see Microsoft Teams when installing Microsoft 365 or Office desktop apps in the EEA and Switzerland.
More info: Users who install Microsoft 365 or Office desktop apps on Windows devices located in the EEA and Switzerland may see that Microsoft Teams isn’t installed. Additionally, Microsoft Teams may be removed entirely if Office is reinstalled.
Affected users can follow these steps to install Microsoft Teams separately: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-teams/download-app
Admins can follow these steps to install Microsoft Teams to devices across their environments: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/msi-deployment
Current status: We’ve completed our deployment of the fix in the new Microsoft 365 apps installer to admin-managed devices. Admins are recommended to re-install Microsoft 365 or Office desktop apps, and Microsoft Teams will display as expected to those with an active Teams service plan. Additionally, we’re continuing with the deployment of the fix that will be available for all end users to download, which we anticipate may complete by our next scheduled update.
Scope of impact: This event may impact users who attempt to install Microsoft 365 or Office desktop apps on Windows devices located in the European Economic Area and Switzerland.
