Title: Users in Europe, Middle East and Africa may have encountered delays rendering images in chats or channels
User impact: Users may have encountered delays rendering images in Microsoft Teams chats or channels.
More info: The duration of rendering delays may have varied but could’ve been up to a few minutes or the full duration of this incident.
Final status: We’ve identified that a section of caching infrastructure encountered excessive latency and resulted in delays when rendering images in Microsoft Teams chats or channels. In an attempt to provide initial relief, we redirected affected user traffic to alternate infrastructure but this didn’t provide the expected relief. Furthermore, we’ve deployed additional resources to the infrastructure and rebalanced traffic. We’ve confirmed impact is no longer occurring after a period of monitoring.
Scope of impact: Impact was specific to some users hosted in the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions attempting to load images in Microsoft Teams.
