Title: Some users may be unable to access the new Microsoft Teams desktop client on Windows or Mac

User impact: Users may be unable to access the new Microsoft Teams desktop client on Windows or Mac.

More info: While we’re focused on remediation, users may still use the Microsoft Teams classic desktop client to retain access to service functionality. Additionally, clearing the cache or restarting the new Microsoft Teams desktop client will mitigate this issue.

Current status: While we’ve deployed a fix that has resolved the issue for Mac users, we’re initiating the deployment of our fix for Windows users, and we anticipate that it will complete and fully remediate the issue on Monday, March 11, 2024.

Scope of impact: This issue may impact a small subset of users who try to access the new Microsoft Teams desktop client on Windows or Mac.

Root cause: An incompatible cache value from a previous Microsoft Teams installation is copying to the new build version of Microsoft Teams, resulting in impact.
