Some admins may see missing data for Exchange SIT files in the Microsoft Purview content explorer

Title: Some admins may see missing data for Exchange SIT files in the Microsoft Purview content explorer

User impact: Admins may see missing data for Exchange Sensitive Information Type (SIT) files in the content explorer.

More info: Specifically, admins may see an aggregate count for a SIT type in the content explorer left panel, but matching Exchange files may be missing in the right panel. Additionally, when impacted admins click on Exchange within content explorer and click into a specific user’s mailbox, they may notice a large mismatch between the total SIT count in the left panel against the Exchange files displayed in the right panel, or they may see a message of “No data available”. Furthermore, there is no impact on actual SIT classifications or any other solutions within Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) or Data Loss Prevention (DLP).

Current status: While we’ve initiated the deployment of our fix in our internal testing environment and we’re performing our final validations before deploying it broadly, this process is taking longer than previously anticipated. We now expect that we should complete our internal validation process and begin deployment to all affected environments by our next scheduled communication update.

Scope of impact: Some admins using content explorer in the Microsoft Purview compliance portal to review Exchange files related to SITs may be impacted.

Root cause: A configuration issue on a portion of infrastructure is preventing accurate data from populating when some admins view Exchange SIT files in the Microsoft Purview content explore from the compliance portal.
