User impact: Users may be unable to access the new Microsoft Teams desktop client on Windows or Mac.

More info: While we’re focused on remediation, users may still use the Microsoft Teams classic desktop client to retain access to service functionality. Additionally, clearing the cache or restarting the new Microsoft Teams desktop client will mitigate this issue.

Current status: Deployment of the fix for Windows users is ongoing and taking more time than expected to complete. We’re monitoring and reviewing the deployment to determine whether any action will be necessary to ensure its completion.

Scope of impact: This issue may impact a small subset of users who try to access the new Microsoft Teams desktop client on Windows or Mac.

Root cause: An incompatible cache value from a previous Microsoft Teams installation is copying to the new build version of Microsoft Teams, resulting in impact.
