More info: Impacted users may see the issue occurring for federated users in chats, calls, channels, and any other service feature that shows federated users.
Specifically, users may see outdated profile information for federated users or show as “Unknown User” in Microsoft Teams if the browser cache doesn’t contain stale profile information for federated users in external chats, calls or any other scenario which includes federated users.
Impact occurs on all Microsoft Teams clients.
Current status: We’re continuing to implement our performance optimizations on the affected portion of infrastructure. Once complete, we’ll monitor to confirm how effective these are at mitigating impact. In parallel, our development of the fix to remediate impact for all users is ongoing, and we anticipate this development will complete by our next scheduled update. Once complete, the fix will undergo testing and validation procedures; after which we’ll determine an estimated timeline for the fix deployment.
Scope of impact: Some users interacting with federated users on any Microsoft Teams client may be impacted.
