Title: Users may be unable to play migrated Stream videos in Microsoft Stream

User impact: Users may be unable to play migrated Stream videos in Microsoft Stream.

More info: Users attempting to play impacted Stream videos will encounter the error message: “This browser or app can’t play the video. Something might be outdated or not supported. Try again using a different browser or app.”

Current status: The secondary fix has completed the validation process and is beginning its deployment. We’re estimating that it will take one week to deploy to all impacted environments, and then an additional week to complete all repairs. As the fix progresses it will begin the repair function. As a result, users should begin seeing relief from the secondary fix as early as tomorrow, March 27, 2024. The original repair job is continuing to run as well, though it is still impacted by an infrastructure slowdown. We anticipate having an updated timeline for full remediation by the time of our next scheduled update.

Scope of impact: Any user may be unable to play migrated Stream videos in Microsoft Stream.

Start time: Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 2:00 AM UTC
