Title: Users may be unable to see video in the new Microsoft Teams on Windows devices

User impact: Users may be unable to see video in the new Microsoft Teams on Windows devices.

More info: The impact is specific to Windows devices that are running on some Windows versions, such as versions N and KN, where a specific Windows media component (mfplat.dll) isn’t present. Affected users may see no video where the video is supposed to be displayed.

To bypass the issue before the fix is fully deployed, affected users can follow the instructions in this link to install the Media Feature Pack:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/mediafeaturepack

Current status: We’ve encountered an error within our Microsoft Teams deployment infrastructure that’s preventing the fix from saturating the affected service area as expected. We’re working to resolve this error and resume the operation, after which we’ll provide a new timeline to full saturation and remediation.

Scope of impact: This event may impact any user who attempts to view video in the new Microsoft Teams.

Start time: Monday, November 13, 2023, at 7:54 AM UTC
