User impact: Admins may have been unable to load data when viewing the files tab in the submissions portal of Microsoft Defender XDR.

More info: Impacted admins may have seen the following error message when trying to load data, “failed to load data, please try later”.

Final status: We’ve completed rolling back the offending deployment, and confirmed with some admins who initially reported the issue that the impact is remediated.

Scope of impact: Some admins that were attempting to load data when viewing the files tab in the submission portal of Microsoft Defender XDR may have been impacted.

Root cause: A code issue in a recent deployment to Microsoft Defender XDR that handles the API for the submissions portal was preventing data from loading as expected.

Next steps:
– We’re further reviewing the recent deployment to understand how the code issue was introduced, and to understand what prevented it from being detected in our update testing and validation procedures, which will allow us to prevent similar issues in future updates.
