Face Check is now generally available

Microsoft recently announced the general availability of Face Check with Microsoft Entra Verified ID, a privacy-respecting facial matching feature for high-assurance identity verifications. This feature is part of the Microsoft Entra Suite, a comprehensive identity solution that offers Zero Trust access by combining network access, identity protection, governance, and identity verification capabilities.

In a world where impersonation and account takeover are growing risks, organizations face challenges in verifying the identities of individuals in digital interactions. Microsoft Entra Verified ID, based on open standards, allows organizations to verify a wide range of credentials using a simple API. It integrates with leading verification partners to verify identity attributes across 192 countries, helping organizations onboard new users remotely and reduce fraud.

Face Check, powered by Azure AI services, enhances identity verification by matching a user’s real-time selfie with the photo on their Verified ID. This feature detects and rejects spoofing techniques, including deepfakes, to protect user identities. Companies like BEMO have integrated Face Check to increase verification accuracy, reduce time, and lower costs, resulting in significant efficiency improvements.

Partners specialize in implementing Face Check with Microsoft Entra Verified ID for specific use cases or verifying identity attributes like employment status or education. These partners extend Verified ID’s capabilities to provide tailored verification solutions for businesses.

To start using Face Check, organizations can either begin a free trial of the Entra Suite, which includes 8 Face Check verifications per user per month, or enable Face Check within Verified ID and pay $0.25 per verification. This premium feature adds an extra layer of security to identity verification processes.
