What’s New in Microsoft Teams | September 2024

September marks the beginning of a new season, and while the weather might be cooling down in the northern hemisphere, Microsoft Teams is heating up with exciting new features!

Last month, we introduced updates like ‘Time-based prompts in Copilot in Chat’ and ‘Callback for call queues’. This month, we’re continuing to make Teams smarter and easier to use. For example, Copilot can now recap questions from a meeting by sourcing responses from both the meeting transcript and chat. Features like ‘Automatically set work location on bookable desks’ and ‘ultrasound proximity join’ make it easier for you to let your colleagues know you’re in the office and connect to the right meeting rooms.

Some of our newest features include improvements to chat and collaboration, meetings, webinars, and town halls, Teams rooms and devices, Teams phone, certified for Teams devices, Teams platform, and frontline worker solutions.

In chat and collaboration, you can now rename the ‘General’ channel and use the updated teams and channels onboarding flow. The ‘Shared’ tab in chat makes it easier to find shared files and links. Enhanced image handling in chat and channels streamlines image sharing.
