Today, we are excited to announce a new chat and channels experience for Microsoft Teams that will be available for public preview in November. This new feature is designed to help you collaborate more efficiently in the workplace.
With the new chat and channels experience, you can now access all your chats, teams, and channels in one convenient place under Chat. This will make it easier for you to navigate and prioritize your conversations without switching contexts.
To help you better manage your messages, we have introduced new filters such as “Unread,” “Chat,” “Channels,” “Meetings,” and “Muted”. This will allow you to quickly catch up on unread conversations or find specific types of conversations with ease.
You can customize your workspace by creating favorites sections, organizing conversations by project or topic, and arranging your conversation list to keep key discussions at the forefront. The new experience also includes features for faster messaging and navigation, such as initiating a chat or channel post from the same place and using keyboard shortcuts to navigate frequently used conversations.
The new chat and channels experience will be available on desktop, mobile, iOS, and Android devices in the public preview in November. We are constantly working on enhancements like threaded conversations to make Teams more streamlined and simpler.
