The Cloud Policy service and Cloud Update in the Microsoft 365 Apps admin center are tools designed to help manage and update devices. By keeping your Microsoft 365 Apps up to date and configured properly, you can ensure they meet organizational standards. Sometimes, you may need to track changes made to these services to see when and by whom they were implemented.
We are excited to announce that you can now track and audit changes in the Cloud Policy service and Cloud Update using Microsoft Purview auditing solutions. This feature records changes such as policy configuration adjustments and profile changes in Cloud Update. It also logs the date, time, and user account responsible for the change.
To review these changes, you can use the Purview Audit feature either through the Purview portal or PowerShell. By enabling Purview auditing, you will have access to the audit log and be able to search for specific activities related to Cloud Policy service and Cloud Update.
In the Purview portal, you can create searches for activities using friendly names or operation names. The search results will display details like the date, time, user account, and specifics of the change. Similarly, PowerShell allows you to connect to Purview and conduct audit searches to view results on the console or save them to files.
