Introducing intelligent media quality classifiers in Microsoft Teams Call Quality Data (CQD) QER v5.0!

Maintaining high-quality calling experiences for users in Microsoft Teams is important, and the Call Quality Dashboard (CQD) is a crucial tool for IT admins. Intelligent media quality classifiers have been developed and added to CQD to help identify the root causes of call quality issues. These classifiers analyze audio, video, and screen sharing streams using machine learning algorithms to provide a nuanced view of call telemetry.

Local classifiers focus on the user’s environment, while remote classifiers examine the impact of other participants in the call. By using these classifiers, admins can pinpoint issues like poor network connections or device problems that may affect call quality. The new Quality of Experience Report (QER) v5.0 incorporates these intelligent classifiers, offering a more accurate analysis of call quality and reducing false positives in troubleshooting.

The Media Health report in QER gives a quick overview of Teams media health in your environment, using the new intelligent media quality classifiers for a more accurate reflection of user experience. Admins can also utilize the Search page to investigate specific users, network locations, or meetings, with detailed information provided on the detected problems related to device or network issues.
