Microsoft Teams aims to create a platform that allows everyone, including those with disabilities, to succeed. We value accessibility and aim to enhance usability for all users by listening to feedback from individuals with lived experiences.
In the upcoming months, Teams will introduce new features to improve collaboration for everyone. These include customizable meeting stages, enhanced captions, Real-Time Text (RTT) for non-verbal participants, improved visual responsiveness, and keyboard improvements. Accessibility settings will also be consolidated in one convenient place in Teams Settings.
Teams currently offers features such as Screen Reader support, High Contrast Mode, Keyboard Shortcuts, Live Captions and Transcriptions, Sign Language View, and Teletypewriter (TTY) Mode to accommodate users across the disability spectrum. Microsoft 365 Copilot will also assist by summarizing discussions and generating meeting notes.
Our commitment to inclusion is a continuous journey that evolves with the needs of our users and technology. Feedback from users with disabilities is integral to shaping our innovations and pushing the limits of collaborative communication.
