Hello and happy new year! Welcome to 2025. I hope you’re having a great start to the year with lots of exciting things to look forward to. This year is going to be big for Teams at Microsoft, as we’re already rolling out some helpful features in January to help you save time and communicate more efficiently.
One of the new features allows you to forward messages between channels, making it easier to share important information with colleagues (“Forward channel messages” in Chat and Collaboration). Another feature gives meeting attendees the freedom to move between breakout rooms, simplifying event management and participation (“Meeting participants can move between breakout rooms” in Meetings, Webinars, and Town Halls).
These are just two of the many new features being released in 2025. Here’s a look at what else is new in categories like Chat and Collaboration, Meetings, Webinars, and Town Halls, Workplace-Places and Rooms, Teams Phone, Teams Devices, Teams Fundamentals, and Frontline Worker Solutions.
In Chat and Collaboration, you can now insert hyperlinks seamlessly to enhance message readability. You can also forward chat messages containing Loop components for real-time collaboration across different chats and channels.
In Meetings, new features include the ability for meeting participants to freely
