The new chat and channels experience in Microsoft Teams will be available to everyone by the end of March. This update aims to simplify communication and collaboration in the workplace. The new design combines chats, teams, and channels into one place under Chat. Users can easily prioritize conversations and manage messages without switching contexts.
Efficiently triage messages with new filters like “Unread,” “Chat,” and “Channels.” @Mentions highlight important messages, and users can customize their workspace with favorites and custom sections. Organize conversations your way, whether by project or topic, and easily manage complex projects.
Save time by initiating chats or channel posts from the same place and navigate Teams effectively with keyboard shortcuts. Customize the experience with controls to view chat and channels separately or combined. The update will roll out to all devices by the end of April for seamless productivity.
More enhancements, like threaded conversations, are in the works. Customers can try the new interface in the Microsoft public preview starting in November. Join events like Ask Microsoft Anything to engage with product makers and provide feedback. Transform your communication and collaboration with the new chat and channels experience in Microsoft Teams.
