Great news! Microsoft 365 and Advanced Data Residency (ADR) are now available for commercial customers in New Zealand. This means that customers in New Zealand can now have more control over where their cloud data is stored.
ADR ensures that certain customer data is stored at rest in New Zealand for core online services such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, and more. Multi-Geo capabilities allow customers to choose where their Microsoft 365 user data is stored at rest, on a per-user basis, within a single tenant.
This new cloud region in New Zealand will provide AI and other cloud services to support digital transformation and the development of the AI economy in the country. Vanessa Sorenson, Managing Director of Microsoft New Zealand, expressed excitement about the opportunities this region will bring for local businesses.
